Switch Control is a tool built into Apple devices that lets you remotely control other Apple devices when they are on the same Wi-Fi network. You can use your iPhone, or iPad to remote control your Mac, Macbook, and Apple TV.&nbsp,

Follow these steps to remote control your Mac using your iPhone or iPad,

Step 1 Connect your devices (MacBook and iPhone/iPad) to the same WiFi network.

Step 2 Make sure that you have signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID on both devices.&nbsp,

Step 3 On your iPhone or iPad, do this, go to Settings &gt, Accessibility &gt, Switch Control &gt, Toggle on Switch Control.

Step 4 To control a Mac, go to the Apple menu -&gt, System Preferences -&gt, Accessibility -&gt, choose Switch Control from the sidebar -&gt, check the checkbox next to Allow platform switching to control your computer.

Step 5 Now, use your switch (iPhone or iPad) to access the Switch Control menu. Tap on Device.

How to Stop controlling another device

If you want to stop controlling another device, press and hold your switch for ten seconds. You can now control the original device again. You can also do this,

To Stop Controlling a Mac

Go to the Switch Control Home panel on your Switch. Select Devices. Select Disconnect and you will be able to control the original device again.

To Stop controlling an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Go to the Switch Control Home panel on your Switch. Select Devices. Select Stop Using Device and you will be able to control the original device again.

How to Turn off Switch Control

If you want to turn off Switch Control, then follow these steps,

To Turn off Switch Control on an iPhone or iPad

Go to Settings, then Accessibility, and then Switch Control, and toggle off Switch Control. Or you can triple-click the Home button or the Side button to exit Switch Control.

Turn off Switch Control on a Mac

Go to System Preferences, then Accessibility, select Switch Control, and deselect the Enable Switch Control option.

How to Use your iPad as a second screen with Sidecar

If you want to remotely access your iPhone from a close distance (under 10 feet or so), then you can use Apple’s Sidecar feature introduced in macOS Catalina.&nbsp,
