Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Singapore Design
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is a budget phone and you can feel it from its design. The phone features a plastic back which is not a bad thing as plastic is durable. The phone has flat sides which makes it stand out from other budget phones who have curved sides.
The Redmi Note 11 has the volume rocker and the power button (also the fingerprint sensor) on the right side. This is my preferred button placement as I can easily access everything I need as a right-handed person. The 3.5mm jack is on the top of the phone, while the USB-C port is at the bottom.
The stereo speakers can be found on the top and the bottom of the phone as well. I love the fact that the speakers are placed symmetrically for the best stereo experience. There is a quad camera setup on the back and I like the arrangement compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10.
Overall, the design, while simple has no issues. The phone also feels durable but not premium. I personally dig the flat sides and symmetric stereo speakers the most. The phone is also sized well and is lightweight, making it ergonomic for all-day use.
The left-hand side has the SIM slot. The Redmi Note 11 has support for dual SIM cards and a microSD card.
You can find the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 in Singapore in three color variants, Graphite Gray, Twilight Blue, and Star Blue, out of which, Star Blue is my favorite.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Singapore Display
The Redmi Note 11 has a superb display for its price. The phone has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that is large enough for most people. The display is bright, vibrant, and pleasing to look at. With a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and 409 PPI, the Redmi Note 11 was sharp and clear no matter what content I consume.
Xiaomi didn't cut corners and offers a 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate. Both of these come together to offer a fast, responsive, and smooth experience. The small camera cutout is also unobtrusive and makes for a good content consumption phone.
Ultimately, the Redmi Note 11 has the best smartphone display under 250 SGD. The display is bright for outdoor use, fast and responsive for navigation/gaming, and colorful for movies/videos. I love the display on the Redmi Note 11. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3 which is a cool addition.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Singapore Performance
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is powered by the Snapdragon 680. This processor is a good chip for daily tasks like browsing and for even some gaming. It may not set benchmarks on fire, but it offers a good experience for the price.
The Redmi Note 11 offers good RAM and storage too, the LPDDR4X RAM is fast and so is the UFS 2.2 storage. This makes the phone snappy and fast when it comes to opening apps, games, and files. You can choose the phone from 4/6 GB RAM options along with 64/128 GB storage options.
The hardware coupled with the new MIUI 13, the Redmi Note 11 offers good performance no matter what you are doing. The processor could have been better, but it's still no slouch and will keep you happy for anything that isn't GPU intensive.
I also don't like how Xiaomi didn't provide Android 12 with the Redmi Note 11. Android 12 is better than Android 11 and Google's latest Android OS was already a few months old at the phone's launch. This and the processor are the aspects where I think Xiaomi could have done better with the Redmi Note 11.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Singapore Camera
Cameras on budget phones are rarely amazing but are still important when it comes to influencing buyers. Sadly, budget buyers usually think quantity is better than quality when it comes to cameras.
Regardless, the Redmi Note 11 features a decent camera setup and is much better than most smartphones in the price category. The phone has four sensors out of which only two are usable.
The 50 MP primary wide camera is good for daylight conditions, while it struggles at night. The 8 MP ultra-wide camera is a decent alternative for wide-angle shots. The 2 MP macro and depth sensors are pretty much useless.
The phone supports 720p and 1080p video recording at 30 fps, which is not good for this day and age. Xiaomi should have added 60fps recording support.
The 13 MP selfie camera will make most users happy for the occasional selfie and video call. The phone tends to over-process images but nowadays almost all phones including flagships do this, which is a shame.
Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 offers a good camera experience. It is not amazing, but it holds its own against the competition. I wish instead of offering garbage tier macro and depth sensors, Xiaomi would improve the main or ultrawide sensors.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Singapore Battery
The battery is one of Xiaomi's strongholds. They have almost always offered some of the best battery life and technology in every price category.
This is not different from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. The phone comes with a non-removable 5000 mAh Li-Po battery. A large battery combined with the efficient 6nm Snapdragon 680, the phone offers excellent battery life.
While the Snapdragon 680 is not great for performance, it at least shines at battery efficiency. So some redemption for Xiaomi's choice in the processor department.
The best part is that Xiaomi offers 33W fast charging with the Redmi Note 11 which can charge the phone in just over an hour. This is better than mid-range phones like the Samsung A series and iPhone SE.
I love the battery life and the charging performance of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. It is my favorite part of the phone.
