If you’re considering the latest Xiaomi Mi 11 line of smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 11T offers a great middle-ground between the lifestyle-oriented Mi 11 Lite and the flagship performance of the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra. With superb audio, flagship-like performance, durable build, and a supremely power-efficient chipset, the S$629 Mi 11T could even be better than its supposedly higher-end sibling, the 11T Pro.

Xiaomi Mi 11T Review
Outfitted with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, the Xiaomi Mi 11T is a beast of a smartphone. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 on the Mi 11T Pro supposedly offers better speeds, the combination of power-efficiency, gaming-oriented performance, and lower-profile thermals keep the MediaTek Dimensity-powered Mi 11T this year’s favorite mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi.
In terms of build quality, the Xiaomi Mi 11T offers great value with a Gorilla Glass Victus front for the most durable smartphone glass ever made by Corning and an older, but still very reliable Gorilla Glass 5 on the back. Where the Xiaomi Mi 11T really shines, however, is in the sound. Xiaomi partnered up with Dolby yet again to offer one of the best sound experiences you can have on a mid-range smartphone. Masterfully tuned and powered by Dolby Atmos, the speakers on the Mi 11T are punchy and dependably loud.
The Xiaomi Mi 11T display is a total knock-out - the 6.67” flat 120Hz AMOLED display offers stunning visuals and smooth animations for games and videos alike, while the built-in AdaptiveSync technology does make for a more power-efficient smartphone by switching between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. However, this implementation of variable refresh rate is too simplistic and pales in comparison to variable refresh on other smartphones.
With app-locked refresh rates - either 60Hz or 120Hz - the Xiaomi Mi 11T stays at 120Hz most of the time, including when you’re in the system UI - and that takes a toll on the otherwise stellar battery performance. That might sound like a huge problem, but fortunately, it’s offset by the fact that the Xiaomi Mi 11T comes with some great charging capabilities right out of the box (literally). This smartphone comes with a 67W fast charger that promises 0-100 battery charging in just 36 minutes - although, in real-world tests, you can expect a full charge to take approximately 40.
On the camera side of things, we found the Xiaomi Mi 11T a little lacking. While it does come with some great camera hardware - specifically the 108-megapixel main camera - and some flagship software, too, with the addition of some of the same Cinemagic features we see in the Mi 11 flagships - the camera experience isn’t as robust or as satisfying on Xiaomi Mi 11T.
Overall, the Xiaomi Mi 11T delivers some fantastic performance for the price, and with the quirks and shortcomings of the more expensive 11T Pro, this smartphone could very well be the best mid-range Android phone of the year.

At S$799 SRP, the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro is pushing the boundary as a “mid-range flagship”. However, despite the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, stellar camera quality, and overall build quality and performance, the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro has a few shortcomings that are pushing customers towards its cheaper, similarly-specced sibling, the Xiaomi Mi 11T.

Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro Review
Outfitted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset - i.e. the highest-end SoC you can get on an Android phone - the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro is a performance beast of a mid-range flagship smartphone. That said, there are some limitations to this hardware component which means you won’t be getting the exact same performance as you would on the Mi 11 Ultra, but it comes pretty close.
Spec for spec, the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro is hard to beat at this price range, but in real-world usage, this smartphone may not be all it’s hyped up to be. While the Snapdragon 888 offers blazing-fast performance - responsive, snappy interface, great camera performance, outstanding gaming capabilities, etc - the thermal bottleneck on the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro is real, and it’s significant. Demanding apps cause the phone to heat up, and from there, performance takes a pretty big hit.
That said, if you don’t plan on putting the processor under duress for long periods of time, the speed and performance in every other area are unparalleled for an S$800 mid-ranger. You get fantastic camera performance as a result, and all of your other apps run smooth as butter.
Display-wise, the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro offers the best display for the money, hands-down. The 6.67” AMOLED display runs 120Hz with MEMC support and is precision tuned for the best color accuracy, and with Dolby Vision and HDR10+, you’re getting flagship-level visuals at mid-range prices. Dolby also helps out in the audio department with Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers to provide one of the best sound experiences on a smartphone, just like on the Mi 11T.
In terms of build quality, the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro offers fantastic value for money by using the same high-end Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display, and Gorilla Glass 5 for the back. However, one of the most impressive features of the Mi 11T Pro is the superior charging experience.
While the Mi 11T already turns heads with 0-100 charging capabilities in under 40 minutes, the Mi 11T Pro takes it even further, allowing users to get a full charge in just 17 minutes. 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge technology is fast, but it also keeps your device from heating up too much while plugged in, while adding in plenty of safety measures to make sure hyper-fast charging never comes at the cost of your safety.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite Review
As one of the thinnest and lightest smartphones of the year, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite instantly triggers questions about its durability and overall build quality, but those quickly fade away as soon as you get your hands on this premium-feeling device. Weighing in at just 157 grams, the 6.81mm thin Mi 11 Lite is still just as big as the flagship Mi 11 so you’re getting the same, large screen for more screen space and better cinematic experiences.
The display alone is impressive all on its own, featuring the latest E4 AMOLED technology to give you better colors and better power efficiency with the large 6.55” panel. Camera performance is nowhere near flagship spec, but with the 64 MP main camera, photo and video quality is pretty good for the price - we just wish the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G (780G if you got the 5G version) could keep up better.
That said, the mid-range chipset and UFS 2.2 storage might feel slower and lower-performance than what’s available in 2021, but for most users, the Mi 11 Lite should still feel snappy and responsive thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate and good overall components. Just don’t expect it to run the latest games at the highest settings.
Apart from its lightweight ergonomics, great price, and superb build quality, one of the best reasons to get the Mi 11 Lite is the sound quality. Featuring best-in-class stereo speakers, the Mi 11 Lite delivers an audio experience that punches way above its pay grade, making it ideal for music lovers and watching videos and movies on your smartphone.
On the software side, the Mi 11 Lite does take a bit of a beating: MIUI 12.5 needs some more polishing before it can stand against better-received operating systems like OnePlus’ OxygenOS or Samsung’s One UI.
Overall, the mid-range Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is still easy to recommend. The combination of a super-portable and lightweight build, high-end display, reasonable performance, and an attractive mid-range price tag, all come together beautifully for a lifestyle-focused smartphone. The camera performance could be a little better, but we could say that about everything else on the Mi 11 Lite. It’s not about enthusiast-level performance - the Mi 11 Lite is a great phone for anyone who wants simplicity and quality in their smartphone, regardless of what’s cutting-edge.
Xiaomi 11T vs 11T Pro vs 11 Lite - Which one should you choose?
The best phone out of the three is undoubtedly the Xiaomi 11T Pro. It has the best performance, best cameras, and best charging technology. At the same time, the Xiaomi 11T Pro is also the costliest of the bunch.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 11T offers a nice middle-ground between the Xiaomi 11T Pro and the Xiaomi 11 Lite. It doesn't cost as much as the 11T Pro but offers a good step up over the 11 Lite.
Let's come to my favorite, the Xiaomi 11 Lite, especially the 5G version. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is an excellent device for its price. It has a beautifully slim and lightweight design, while not sacrificing performance too much. Its cameras could be better but for the price, they are great.
If I had to choose a device, I would go with the Xiaomi 11 Lite. But if you want the best performance and cameras, then the Xiaomi 11T Pro is amazing too. Finally, if you can't afford the Xiaomi 11T Pro, but want something more powerful and better than the Xiaomi 11 Lite, then the Xiaomi 11T will keep you happy.
