The packaging is like most Viomi products, its a back cardboard box with the image of the smart kettle on the front portion. You can find a list of the specs and features on the sides.

From the outside, the water kettle looks like any other kettle, except it looks a bit futuristic. It has a nice black matte finish. The material is made of hard black plastic.
- On the handle, there is a display with a boil button and a warm button. The display also shows the temperature the water is at currently.
- You will also find the Viomi logo on the device and a Bluetooth symbol engraved into the handle to showcase the fact it supports Bluetooth.
- The handle is pretty ergonomic and you'll find a button on top of the handle which basically ejects the cover of the smart kettle.
- If you are cooking precisely with measurements, the Viomi water kettle can help. It has markings on the inside that displays the quantities such as 500ml, 1 L and 1.5 litres.

It's fairly simple to sync your Viomi smart Kettle to your MI Home App. all you have to do is follow these steps:
- First, make sure the kettle is connected to a power outlet and is on.
- Open Mi Home App on your smartphone.

- On your app interface, add a new device either manually or by searching for nearby devices.

The kettle can boil the full capacity of 1.5 liters in under 5 minutes thanks to the brilliant 1800W heating coil. Additionally, this heating coil is cancelled. So, it won't be affected by the minerals or limescale in the water. Most importantly, this smart kettle will automatically shut off when the water reaches its boiling point.
In fact, since this kettle is equipped with smart technology, there's a lot of actions you can automate. You can set it to keep the temperature warm and even set the kettle to keep the content warm for different liquids. This beast can actually keep your liquids warm for 12 hours using very little electricity.

So this is your everyday kettle with a slight difference. The button for boil and warm are pretty useful and also the temperature number on the handle display. This makes it super easy to boil the water at the perfect temperature you are comfortable with.

I honestly expected a bit more from the kettle considering the characteristics. What I did not like:
1) The handle is extremely uncomfortable and feels brittle. You almost always press the buttons on the handle when you lift it. Which is quite annoying.
2) It's hard to remotely control the device unless you sync it to the European server. Although this isn't a huge problem, it's hard for a non-European user.
However, I liked that the kettle has good thermal insulation and performance.
