Redmi Note 7 Latest Price and Review | The 48-Megapixel Beast for Super Cheap!

by Jenny Xiao
redmi note 7 camera

The Redmi series has always been a favourite of mine. Xiaomi has always ensured that the Redmi phones deliver on performance and price. While the design and aesthetics have changed over time. When it comes to the function and processing power, these phones are top of the line. For example, the Redmi Note 7 which hit the markets last year, is still one of the best selling Redmi phones in the world. This primarily has to do with its evergreen nature. Check out our Redmi Note 7 Latest Price and Review for all the details.

For a phone to stay relevant in this world after a year is almost impossible. However, the Redmi Note 7 has managed to pull it off; primarily due to its unbelievable hardware. It has overwhelming build quality, a terrific camera set up and powerful battery. These three factors along with its throwaway price made it one of the most popular phones in the world. Unfortunately, it does have it's cons. For example, it has an average processor and irritating ads in the UI. I recommend you update the moment you get this phone.

After having reviewed the Redmi Note 7 based on various factors like design, function, features, performance, camera, and price; my team and I determined that:

The Redmi Note 7 is one of the best entry-level phones in the market. Not only does it have sturdy build with a beautiful design but it also terrific visuals with its 6.3" Full HD screen. Additionally, it comes with a 48 MP camera that can capture clear images in low light environments. Most importantly, it has a 4045 mAh battery that can last for 1-2 days on a single charge.

Design and Display

redmi note 7 camera

The first thing I noticed about the phone when I opened it was the design. The Redmi Note 7’ gradient finish is super catchy looking and one of the better looking phones out there. If you are tired of the old-school plain finish, then the Redmi Note 7 is a breath of fresh air.

The display also has a notch for the camera, which we will get to later. The back of the phone has a fingerprint sensor and two powerful cameras.

The right side of the phone has an on and off button and the volume rocker. It has a 3.5mm jack on the top. For those of you who were worried about this, then you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Features

redmi note 7 design

The processor that powers this phone is the very reliable Snapdragon 660 Octa-core Processor. It also has a dual-sim card slot for those of you who are particular about that.

  • It also has a nifty IR blaster located on top that makes this phone a remote control that can control your TV and other devices.
  • The OS that powers this phone is the MIUI 10 which is Xiaomi’s latest Android-based OS that looks pretty nifty. It has some awesome basic setups like three-finger gesture control and button set up at the bottom. It’s all completely under your control.

You can use split-screen to simultaneously run two apps (Multitasking much?). Most of the apps that are preloaded on this phone are useful ones like Google Play Store among others. The speaker on the phone is something to write about as it is very loud and great to listen to.

Cameras

The front-facing selfie camera is a 13-megapixel shooter that sits nicely on the drop notch. It has an f/2.0 aperture that can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. But the camera that needs to be spoken about is the one in the back.

  • The primary camera is a dual-camera setup with a 48-megapixel shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP f/2.2 aperture. The 5MP camera is a depth sensor lens. It has a 2X zoom lens which can capture farther objects with relative ease.

So how is Xiaomi able to make this one of the best smartphone cameras going around? The Note 7 has a technology that captures 4 pixels and makes one super pixel to give the picture a very high quality.

Battery

The battery on the Redmi Note 7 is a 4000 mAh whopper that supports quick charge.

Final Call

If you are looking for a phone with great all round performance, then the Redmi Note 7 delivers and delivers pretty good.

It has a super awesome processor that ensures super quick speed and seamless movements across apps. It enables multi-tasking and also numerous other gestures which wouldn’t be possible without the processor.

The display is big and sizeable enough to enjoy the games and watch TV shows and stuff like that. The massive battery will ensure that you have enough juice for about a day and slightly more. It’s enabled with the Quick Charge 4 feature that ensures you can charge your battery quickly without any fuss.

The camera is what will make you take this phone home. Its the tipping point. The camera is fantastic and it might not be as good as the iPhone 11 Pro, but it’s right up there competing with the best of the best.

Lastly and the most important aspect of this phone is the price. The price to specs ratio is off the charts. For the amount you pay, you get so much more in terms of value.

Will the Redmi Note 7 be a hit? No, it’s going to be a blockbuster hit!

Pros

  • Big screen size
  • Great cameras (Front and Back)
  • Solid processor
  • Great battery with Quick Charge
  • Beautiful design

Cons

  • Difficult to keep clean because of the fingerprints on the back
  • The display has a very slight purple-ish hue.

Redmi Note 7 Price

The Redmi Note 7 retails for around $160 and that makes it one of the cheapest phones with the best cameras going around. If you are looking for the best of the best, then the Redmi Note 7 is a contender.

User Reviews

If you read a lot of cell phone reviews, you see the reviewers get very nit picky in their comparisons of various phones because they have access to them all.
You don't.
All you want is the latest phone but not the stupid $1000 price for something you may drop on concrete and smash someday.
The smart answer is a phone like this. Unless you're a teenage tech nerd, this phone will blow your mind with how well it performs in every way required by normal people.
Everything works great. I think the camera is damn good. I'm not spending half my day posting selfies so other people will gratify my ego with 850 likes.
With all the cloud storage available free today, you really don't even need the 128mb internal storage on this device but I bought it anyway.
I've had 2 Huawei phones so far that were great. This new Chinese phone is better in every way.
It supports fast charging but the included one doesn't so you need to pay another $20 to buy one. Otherwise, buy this phone.

I love this phone. It is absolutely worth the money. It works great in the Central Kentucky area with a Cricket sim card. I'm not a professional photographer but this thing takes great pictures, the bokeh is great in portrait mode. An $800 to $1000 phone may take better pics but for the money this has a great camera. The fingerprint sensor is very fast without any issues. It does have the capability of rapid charge but it doesn't come with a rapid charger, just a standard charger. The worst thing I can find with the phone is the battery life and I'm knit picking here. I'm am on the phone constantly through the day. So later in the evening (after about 12 or 13 hours) I sometimes have to give a quick charge to finish out the night. I would think with normal use you could go 1 1/2 or maybe 2 days per charge. AGAIN THIS DOES WORK IN THE USA, I HAD READ IN SOME PLACE THAT IT WOULDN'T WORK. IT DEFINITELY WORKS IN CENTRAL KENTUCKY WITH A CRICKET SIM.

I've been using the phone for 3 days now and I can definitely say it's an very impressive phone for a $200 budget level. Has good quality build and feel. Screen quality is great. The IMUI is ok but needs improvement. Adding a launcher will help but it's nothing to gripe about. I got the 128 gb rom which is pretty good for only $15 from the 64gb. As far as network, I'm still using my AT&T go phone Sim card and it's working fine. Battery life is OK but with moderate use it could be better. I usually have to put on charge at the end of day. The camera takes great photos during daylight. Very crisp and detailed shots. The back is also glass so I would definitely use a case. Overall, very satisfied. I don't think anyone looking for a phone in this price range will be disappointed as it will compete with other phones at price levels in the $600-800+ range. Just be mindful of the network availability.
